My name is Carol M. Highsmith and I enjoy traveling all across America.  My plan is to capture everything I see so that I can donate the images to the Library of Congress.  I have a 30-year relationship with the Library of Congress and I am honored to have my collection featured in the top six collections – right along side of Mathew Brady and Dorthea Lange – out of 14 million images!  I plan to photograph the entire United States…state by state over the next 16 years.  I began my quest in the state of Alabama at the beginning of this year and now I am working in Washington, D.C.  I had a very generous man donate the funds for the me capture these two states.  The collection will be called the George F. Landegger Alabama Library of Congress Collection.
